Halo was excellent to work with. They took care of meeting my insurance company at my home. They started and finished the job promptly. Their guys were great and cleaned up the site fantastic. At the end of the day, you couldn’t even tell they had been there. Great Job! Ricky and Justin were great to work with! They did everything they said they would do! I would highly recommend this company. Service was Great! If you need a roof call Halo Roofing. You will truly pleased with their work!!!
Response from the owner: Thank you Pete for the kind words. It was a pleasure and enjoyed catching up and spending a little time reminiscing
Very professional from initial contact to completed work. Quality of work, Ighly recommend.
Response from the owner: Thank you Jerry! We appreciate your kind review.
Competitive pricing, fast and efficient. I would definitely b recommend this company
Response from the owner: Thank you for the kind words and thank you for choosing us
Had a problem with a ridge vent and Justin was able to come and get the matter sorted for me. Very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Response from the owner: Thank you Thomas for the kind words. It was our pleasure
Happy to leave a 5-star review - HALO Roofing made my roof replacement incredibly easy!I had not been pleased with other (4) estimates I acquired prior to meeting Justin at my home on May 30, 2024. He performed a quick inspection and asked if I had any specific concerns or questions about the process of a full roof replacement. He delivered an accurate estimate in prompt timing and had me on the schedule for installation almost immediately. Not long after I had brand-new roof, but EXACT match to my previous roof pattern, with a 50 year warranty! I was also very impressed with flat (commercial grade) roofing and new 1" insulation board. This upgrade has significantly helped with HVAC costs in the hot summer months.During installation Justin was present and receptive of my concerns about rotted decking and my busted attic fans. I used the 2-4x8 sheets of plywood provided with the roof replacement some additional boards in other problem areas. The crew did a very impressive job protecting my HVAC units and hunted the grounds for nails/scraps upon their completion. (I don't mind a little mess after a large job like this, after all - it's a HUGE project so there's some bits and pieces to be expected - I give these guys ALOT of credit for their clean-up!)From start to finish, top notch performance from HALO Roofing! When I need another roof, they will without a doubt have my business.
Response from the owner: Thank you Matthew for the kind words We try to go above and beyond for our customers and-your kind words tells me we are on the right course. If ever needed we are just a call away. Many Thanks for choosing Halo Roofing
They are the best. The church roof is awesome. Thank you so very much. We are very grateful.
Response from the owner: Thank You. It was our pleasure. If you ever need us we’re just a call away
The go to guys for your roofing needs and more.
Response from the owner: THANKS ATLAS
They made getting our roof replaced so easy. It was a great experience from start to finish, and I felt confident in everything that was done.
Reasonable pricing and good work.
Ricky and Justin from Halo Roofing were great to work with. They responded quickly to my questions and got the job done when they said they would. The quality of the work was excellent and the price was fair. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.
Response from the owner: Thank You for the kind words. It was our pleasure and look forward to the next project

FAQ: We’ve Got Answers

What Types of Siding Materials Do You Offer, and How Do I Choose the Best Option for My Home?

Choosing the right siding for your home is a big decision, and at Halo Roofing and Renovations, we’re here to make it simple.

We offer a range of siding materials, each designed to enhance your home’s beauty, durability, and energy efficiency.

Here’s an in-depth look at the options we provide and how to determine which is best for your needs.

  1. Vinyl Siding: Affordable and Versatile
Vinyl siding is a top choice for homeowners because it’s cost-effective, low-maintenance, and available in a wide variety of colors and styles.

It’s resistant to rot, moisture, and pests, making it an excellent option for North Carolina’s climate.

  • Benefits: Affordable, easy to clean, never needs painting.
  • Ideal For: Homeowners seeking a low-maintenance, budget-friendly option with plenty of style choices.
  • Maintenance: Occasional washing with soap and water to keep it looking like new.
  1. Fiber Cement Siding: Long-Lasting and Fire-Resistant
Fiber cement siding combines the look of wood with the durability of cement. It’s extremely tough, resisting fire, pests, and weather damage.

With its natural appearance, it’s perfect for homeowners who want a timeless aesthetic without the upkeep of wood siding.

  • Benefits: Resistant to fire, rot, and termites; available in wood-look designs.
  • Ideal For: Homes exposed to harsh weather or homeowners seeking a long-lasting, elegant option.
  • Maintenance: Occasional repainting or re-sealing may be needed to maintain its finish.
  1. Engineered Wood Siding: Natural Look With Added Strength
Engineered wood siding offers the beauty of traditional wood siding with added durability and resistance to the elements.

It’s treated to withstand moisture, pests, and rot, making it a fantastic choice for homeowners who want the charm of wood without the constant upkeep.

  • Benefits: Lightweight, easy to install, and resistant to moisture and insects.
  • Ideal For: Homeowners who want the authentic look of wood with enhanced performance.
  • Maintenance: Minimal upkeep, though occasional cleaning or touch-ups may be needed.
  1. Insulated Siding: Energy-Efficient and Comfortable
Insulated siding takes vinyl or fiber cement siding to the next level by adding a layer of foam insulation behind the panels.

This boosts energy efficiency, reduces noise, and helps regulate your home’s indoor temperature.

  • Benefits: Improves insulation, reduces energy costs, and minimizes exterior noise.
  • Ideal For: Homeowners looking to enhance energy efficiency and comfort.
  • Maintenance: Similar to vinyl or fiber cement siding, with added durability thanks to the insulation layer.

How to Choose the Right Siding for Your Home

Selecting the best siding for your home depends on several factors. Here’s how we help homeowners make the right decision:

  • Consider Your Home’s Climate Needs
In North Carolina, your siding needs to stand up to humidity, rain, and occasional storms. Fiber cement and vinyl are excellent choices for moisture resistance, while engineered wood adds a natural touch without succumbing to rot.
  • Think About Maintenance
If you’re looking for a no-fuss option, vinyl siding is the easiest to maintain. For those willing to invest a little extra in upkeep for a timeless aesthetic, fiber cement or engineered wood might be ideal.
  • Focus on Energy Efficiency
If you’re concerned about rising energy costs, insulated siding provides an added layer of protection, keeping your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
  • Match Your Style and Budget
Your siding should reflect your personal style and enhance your home’s curb appeal. We’ll help you choose from a variety of colors, textures, and profiles to find the perfect match for your vision.

How Durable Are Your Siding Materials, and Will They Protect My Home From North Carolina’s Weather?

Durability is one of the most important factors when choosing siding for your home.

At Halo Roofing and Renovations, we offer siding materials designed to handle North Carolina’s unique climate challenges, from humid summers and heavy rains to occasional storms.

With 30+ years combined experience, we’ve selected materials that not only look great but also stand up to the elements, keeping your home protected and beautiful for years to come.

Vinyl Siding: Weather-Resistant and Low-Maintenance
Vinyl siding is one of the most durable and popular options for homeowners.

It’s specifically engineered to resist:

  • Moisture Damage: Vinyl doesn’t absorb water, making it ideal for humid climates and heavy rains.
  • Pests and Rot: Unlike wood, vinyl is immune to termites and rot, giving it excellent long-term durability.
  • Fading and Cracking: Modern vinyl siding is UV-resistant, so it maintains its color and flexibility even under intense sun exposure.

Vinyl is also designed to expand and contract with temperature changes, preventing cracking or warping during North Carolina’s fluctuating seasons.

Fiber Cement Siding: Tough Enough for Extreme Conditions
Fiber cement siding is built to last through almost anything.

Made from a mix of cement, sand, and cellulose fibers, this material offers unmatched durability against:

  • Storm Damage: Fiber cement is impact-resistant, making it less likely to dent or crack during hailstorms or debris impact.
  • Fire Resistance: One of the most fire-resistant materials available, offering peace of mind.
  • Moisture and Rot: It resists water absorption, preventing warping, rotting, and mold growth.

This siding option is ideal for homeowners who want long-term protection with minimal maintenance, even in areas prone to severe weather.

Engineered Wood Siding: Natural Look With Enhanced Durability
Engineered wood siding combines the beauty of traditional wood with advanced treatments that boost its resilience.

It’s specially designed to resist:

  • Pest Damage: Treated to prevent termite and insect infestations.
  • Moisture and Mold: Unlike natural wood, engineered wood doesn’t absorb water as easily, reducing the risk of rot and mold growth.
  • Weather Wear: With protective coatings, engineered wood withstands UV rays and heavy rain while maintaining its color and finish.

Engineered wood offers a natural aesthetic with the strength to endure harsh weather.

Insulated Siding: Extra Protection and Energy Efficiency
Insulated siding is vinyl or fiber cement siding with an added layer of foam insulation.

This not only improves your home’s energy efficiency but also enhances the durability of the siding by:

  • Strengthening the panels to resist impact damage.
  • Reducing the chance of warping or bending in extreme temperatures.
  • Providing extra protection against heavy winds and storms.

The insulation layer helps your home stay comfortable while ensuring your siding stays strong.

Why Durable Siding Matters for North Carolina Homes
North Carolina’s weather brings a mix of challenges, from the humid heat of summer to the occasional hurricane or storm season.

Durable siding is your home’s first line of defense against:

  • Heavy Rains and Moisture: Preventing water intrusion and structural damage.
  • Strong Winds: Resisting tearing, cracking, or peeling during storms.
  • Sun Exposure: Protecting against UV damage and fading.

With the right siding, your home stays protected year-round, reducing maintenance needs and avoiding costly repairs caused by weather damage.

How Much Maintenance Does New Siding Require, and Are There Low-Maintenance Options Available?

Homeowners love the idea of beautiful, long-lasting siding, but many worry about the upkeep. The good news is that modern siding materials are designed to be more durable and easier to maintain than ever.

At Halo Roofing and Renovations, we offer a variety of siding options, including low-maintenance materials that keep your home looking great with minimal effort.

Let’s dive into what’s involved in maintaining your siding and how to choose the best option for your lifestyle.

Vinyl Siding: The Ultimate Low-Maintenance Choice
Vinyl siding is a favorite for homeowners who want great looks without the hassle. Here’s why it’s so easy to care for:

  • No Painting Required: Vinyl siding comes pre-colored and won’t fade, peel, or chip like painted surfaces, so you never have to worry about repainting.
  • Simple Cleaning: A quick rinse with a garden hose or pressure washer removes dirt, dust, and grime. For stubborn spots, mild soap and water do the trick.
  • Resistant to Pests and Moisture: Vinyl doesn’t attract termites or rot, meaning fewer problems over time.

If you want a “set it and forget it” siding option, vinyl is the way to go.

Fiber Cement Siding: Durable and Minimal Upkeep
Fiber cement siding requires slightly more maintenance than vinyl but is still very manageable. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Occasional Cleaning: Like vinyl, fiber cement benefits from a good rinse every year to keep it looking fresh.
  • Repainting Every 10-15 Years: While fiber cement holds paint exceptionally well, you may want to refresh the color after a decade or more.
  • Resists Damage: Its fire, moisture, and pest resistance mean fewer repairs compared to traditional wood siding.

Fiber cement is perfect for homeowners who want a low-maintenance material with a timeless, upscale look.

Engineered Wood Siding: Natural Aesthetic With Added Durability
Engineered wood siding combines the beauty of real wood with less upkeep. Its maintenance needs include:

  • Regular Cleaning: Removing dirt and debris once or twice a year keeps it looking great.
  • Occasional Repainting or Staining: Depending on the finish, you might need to touch up the paint or stain every 5-10 years.
  • Inspection for Wear: Periodic checks for minor damage, such as scratches or dents, can prevent larger issues.

If you love the look of natural wood but don’t want to deal with constant upkeep, engineered wood is a fantastic alternative.

Insulated Siding: Durable and Energy-Efficient
Insulated siding offers the same easy maintenance as vinyl or fiber cement but adds energy-saving benefits. Its upkeep is simple:

  • Routine Cleaning: Wash it down once a year to remove dirt and keep the finish looking sharp.
  • No Repainting Required: Like standard vinyl, insulated siding maintains its color and finish for years.
  • Durable Design: The added insulation strengthens the panels, reducing wear and tear.

With insulated siding, you get low-maintenance convenience paired with energy efficiency.

How to Keep Your Siding Looking Its Best
No matter which siding material you choose, a few simple steps can keep it in top condition:

  • Clean Annually: Use a garden hose or soft-bristle brush to remove dirt, dust, and mildew. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage the finish.
  • Trim Nearby Vegetation: Keep bushes and trees trimmed to prevent scratches or stains.
  • Inspect for Damage: After storms or high winds, check for loose panels, cracks, or other issues. Addressing small problems early prevents larger repairs.

With these easy maintenance habits, your siding will look like new for years to come.

Why Low-Maintenance Siding Matters
Modern siding options are designed with busy homeowners in mind. Low-maintenance materials save you time, effort, and money by reducing the need for repairs, painting, and constant upkeep.

At Halo Roofing and Renovations, we’ll help you choose a siding material that fits your style and your schedule.

Let Halo Roofing Simplify Your Home’s Upkeep

Will New Siding Improve My Home’s Energy Efficiency and Reduce Utility Costs?

Yes, it absolutely can! Installing new siding isn’t just about enhancing your home’s appearance—it can also play a significant role in making your home more energy-efficient.

At Halo Roofing and Renovations, we specialize in siding solutions designed to protect your home, keep it comfortable, and save you money on heating and cooling costs.

Let’s dive into how new siding can make a difference.

How Siding Impacts Energy Efficiency
Your siding acts as a barrier between your home and the outside world, shielding it from heat, cold, and moisture.

Over time, old or damaged siding can lose its ability to insulate your home effectively, leading to drafts, temperature fluctuations, and higher utility bills.

Replacing it with modern, energy-efficient materials provides several benefits:

  • Improved Insulation: Today’s siding options, such as insulated vinyl or fiber cement, include layers of foam or thermal barriers that prevent heat loss in the winter and keep your home cooler in the summer.
  • Sealing Drafts and Gaps: New siding installation often includes sealing gaps or cracks that let conditioned air escape, improving your home’s overall airtightness.
  • Reflecting Heat: Some siding materials are designed to reflect sunlight, reducing heat absorption and keeping your home naturally cooler in warm weather.

With new siding, your HVAC system won’t have to work as hard, leading to lower energy consumption and reduced utility bills.

Benefits of Insulated Siding
One of the best ways to boost energy efficiency is by choosing insulated siding

This type of siding includes a layer of foam insulation that’s bonded to the back of the panel, providing additional protection against temperature changes.

Why Insulated Siding Stands Out:

  • Thermal Resistance: The foam layer acts as a barrier, preventing heat from passing through your walls.
  • Noise Reduction: Insulated siding also dampens outside noise, creating a quieter, more comfortable living environment.
  • Moisture Protection: The added insulation helps prevent condensation, which can lead to mold or mildew inside your walls.

Insulated siding is a smart investment for homeowners who want to combine energy savings with enhanced durability and comfort.

Fiber Cement Siding and Energy Efficiency
While fiber cement siding doesn’t come with built-in insulation, it offers excellent protection from the elements. When paired with additional insulation during installation, it creates a highly effective thermal barrier.

Fiber cement’s dense, durable design helps prevent heat transfer, keeping your home more comfortable year-round.

Vinyl Siding and Energy Savings
Vinyl siding is naturally low-maintenance and cost-effective, but when upgraded to insulated vinyl, it becomes an energy-efficient powerhouse.

Insulated vinyl offers the same affordability and style options as standard vinyl while improving your home’s thermal performance.

Additional Ways New Siding Reduces Costs
In addition to lowering your utility bills, new siding can save you money in other ways:

  • Reduced HVAC Maintenance: By lessening the workload on your heating and cooling systems, you can extend their lifespan and reduce repair costs.
  • Lower Repair Expenses: Modern siding materials are more resistant to wear and damage, cutting down on maintenance and repair needs.
  • Increased Home Value: Energy-efficient upgrades, like insulated siding, make your home more attractive to buyers and can lead to higher resale value.

How We Maximize Energy Efficiency During Installation
At Halo Roofing and Renovations, we go beyond simply installing new siding.

Our team ensures every project is completed with energy efficiency in mind by:

  • Sealing Gaps: We meticulously seal all joints, edges, and seams to prevent air leaks.
  • Pairing With Proper Insulation: If your home’s insulation needs an upgrade, we’ll make recommendations to ensure maximum thermal protection.
  • Using High-Quality Materials: We work with trusted manufacturers to provide siding options that meet today’s energy-efficiency standards.

Your Home, Your Savings
Imagine a home that stays cool in the summer, warm in the winter, and costs less to maintain. With new siding, this can be your reality.

Energy-efficient siding is a long-term investment in your home’s comfort and value, and it pays off with lower energy bills month after month.

How Long Does the Siding Installation Process Take, and Will It Disrupt My Daily Routine?

The siding installation process can vary depending on the size of your home, the type of siding you choose, and the condition of your existing exterior.

At Halo Roofing and Renovations, we prioritize both efficiency and quality, ensuring your new siding is installed seamlessly with minimal disruption to your daily life.

Here’s an in-depth look at what to expect and how we make the process as smooth as possible.

How Long Does Siding Installation Take?
For most homes, siding installation typically takes 5 to 10 days from start to finish. Several factors influence the timeline:

  • Home Size: Larger homes naturally take more time to complete, while smaller homes may only require a few days.
  • Type of Siding: Some materials, like vinyl, are quicker to install because they’re lightweight and easy to handle. Others, like fiber cement or engineered wood, may take longer due to the need for precise cuts and additional steps.
  • Condition of Existing Siding: If your current siding needs to be removed or the underlying structure requires repairs, this can add time to the project.

During your consultation, we’ll provide a detailed timeline based on your specific home and project needs, so you know exactly what to expect.

Will the Installation Disrupt My Routine?
We understand that your home is your sanctuary, and the thought of a construction project can feel overwhelming.

That’s why we take extra steps to minimize disruptions and keep the process stress-free.

  1. Clear Communication Before We Begin
Before we start, we’ll go over every detail of the project with you, including:
  • The expected timeline and daily work hours.
  • What areas of your property we’ll need access to.
  • Any precautions or preparations you should take, such as clearing outdoor furniture or ensuring pets and children are safe.

Our goal is to make sure you’re fully informed and prepared for the process.

  1. Respecting Your Space
Our team is committed to treating your home and property with care. Here’s how we minimize the impact on your daily life:
  • Organized Work Zones: We set up and keep materials, tools, and debris contained to specific areas, ensuring your yard and driveway remain usable.
  • Noise Management: While there will be some noise during installation, we work efficiently to limit disruptions.
  • Daily Cleanup: At the end of each workday, we tidy up the site to ensure your property stays clean and safe.

You’ll still have access to your home and outdoor spaces throughout the project, and we’ll keep disruptions to a minimum.

  1. Flexible Scheduling
We know every homeowner has unique needs, so we work with you to create a schedule that fits your lifestyle.

Whether it means starting early, working on weekends, or coordinating around your availability, we’re happy to accommodate.

What Happens During Installation?
Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of what the process typically looks like:

  • Preparation: We start by inspecting and prepping the exterior of your home. If old siding needs to be removed, we’ll do so carefully, addressing any underlying damage to ensure a strong foundation for the new siding.
  • Weather Barrier Installation: A protective weather barrier is applied to shield your home from moisture and improve insulation.
  • Siding Installation: The new siding is installed methodically, section by section, ensuring a precise and seamless fit.
  • Finishing Touches: Trim, caulking, and any custom details are added to ensure a polished, professional finish.
  • Final Inspection and Cleanup: Once the siding is installed, we perform a thorough inspection to ensure every detail meets our quality standards. We then clean up the site, leaving your property spotless and ready to enjoy.
