Halo was excellent to work with. They took care of meeting my insurance company at my home. They started and finished the job promptly. Their guys were great and cleaned up the site fantastic. At the end of the day, you couldn’t even tell they had been there. Great Job! Ricky and Justin were great to work with! They did everything they said they would do! I would highly recommend this company. Service was Great! If you need a roof call Halo Roofing. You will truly pleased with their work!!!

Response from the owner: Thank you Thomas for the kind words. It was our pleasure
Happy to leave a 5-star review - HALO Roofing made my roof replacement incredibly easy!I had not been pleased with other (4) estimates I acquired prior to meeting Justin at my home on May 30, 2024. He performed a quick inspection and asked if I had any specific concerns or questions about the process of a full roof replacement. He delivered an accurate estimate in prompt timing and had me on the schedule for installation almost immediately. Not long after I had brand-new roof, but EXACT match to my previous roof pattern, with a 50 year warranty! I was also very impressed with flat (commercial grade) roofing and new 1" insulation board. This upgrade has significantly helped with HVAC costs in the hot summer months.During installation Justin was present and receptive of my concerns about rotted decking and my busted attic fans. I used the 2-4x8 sheets of plywood provided with the roof replacement some additional boards in other problem areas. The crew did a very impressive job protecting my HVAC units and hunted the grounds for nails/scraps upon their completion. (I don't mind a little mess after a large job like this, after all - it's a HUGE project so there's some bits and pieces to be expected - I give these guys ALOT of credit for their clean-up!)From start to finish, top notch performance from HALO Roofing! When I need another roof, they will without a doubt have my business.
Response from the owner: Thank you Matthew for the kind words We try to go above and beyond for our customers and-your kind words tells me we are on the right course. If ever needed we are just a call away. Many Thanks for choosing Halo Roofing
They are the best. The church roof is awesome. Thank you so very much. We are very grateful.
Response from the owner: Thank You. It was our pleasure. If you ever need us we’re just a call away
The go to guys for your roofing needs and more.
Response from the owner: THANKS ATLAS
They made getting our roof replaced so easy. It was a great experience from start to finish, and I felt confident in everything that was done.
Reasonable pricing and good work.
Ricky and Justin from Halo Roofing were great to work with. They responded quickly to my questions and got the job done when they said they would. The quality of the work was excellent and the price was fair. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.
Response from the owner: Thank You for the kind words. It was our pleasure and look forward to the next project

FAQ: We’ve Got Answers

What Types of Roof Damage Can You Repair, and How Quickly Can You Respond?

Roof damage comes in all shapes and sizes, and knowing what can be repaired (and how quickly it can be fixed) is a common concern for homeowners.

At Halo Roofing and Renovations, we’ve seen it all—from minor wear and tear to storm-related emergencies—and we’re ready to get your roof back to top shape, fast.

Here’s a breakdown of the types of damage we repair and how we make the process stress-free for you.

Types of Roof Damage We Repair

  1. Missing or Damaged Shingles
High winds, heavy rain, or aging shingles can leave your roof exposed to the elements. If you’ve noticed bare spots or shingles that are cracked, curled, or blown off, it’s time for a repair.

Missing shingles can lead to leaks and water damage if left unaddressed, but a professional repair can restore your roof’s protection and appearance.

  1. Leaks and Water Intrusion
Leaks are one of the most common roofing problems we address. Water stains on your ceiling, damp walls, or dripping in your attic often signal a leak.

The source of a leak isn’t always obvious, which is why we use our expertise to pinpoint the exact cause—whether it’s a damaged shingle, faulty flashing, or compromised seal around a vent or chimney.

  1. Storm and Hail Damage
North Carolina weather can be unpredictable, and storms can leave lasting damage to your roof. We repair issues caused by:
  • Hail: Dents, cracks, or granule loss on your shingles
  • Wind: Loose or blown-off shingles
  • Falling Debris: Damage caused by branches or debris striking your roof

Even if the damage isn’t visible from the ground, we recommend a professional inspection after a storm to catch any hidden problems early.

  1. Flashing and Vent Damage
Flashing around chimneys, skylights, and vents is designed to keep water out. Over time, flashing can corrode, crack, or separate from the roof, leading to leaks.

We repair and replace damaged flashing to ensure these vulnerable areas stay watertight.

  1. Roof Decking Issues
The roof decking (the plywood beneath your shingles) is the foundation of your roof.

If it becomes soft, sagging, or rotted due to prolonged water exposure, it must be repaired to prevent structural issues.

We identify decking problems and make the necessary fixes to keep your roof solid and secure.

  1. Gutter and Drainage Issues
Improper drainage can cause water to back up onto your roof, leading to leaks and water damage.

We repair gutters and downspouts to ensure water flows away from your home efficiently.

How Quickly Can Halo Roofing Respond?

Prompt Service When You Need It Most
We understand that roofing problems can’t wait—especially when leaks or storm damage threaten your home. That’s why we pride ourselves on fast response times.

Whether it’s a minor repair or a roofing emergency, we’ll schedule a free inspection as soon as possible to assess the issue and get to work.

For storm or emergency repairs, we prioritize getting your home protected quickly. If needed, we’ll install temporary solutions like tarping to stop further damage until full repairs can be completed.

The Halo Roofing Repair Process

  1. Free Inspection: We start with a thorough, no-obligation inspection to assess the damage and identify the root cause.
  2. Clear Explanation: We’ll explain exactly what we found, what repairs are needed, and how long the process will take.
  3. Honest Estimate: You’ll get a clear, upfront estimate with no hidden fees or surprises.
  4. Fast, Professional Repairs: Our team works efficiently to make lasting repairs, using top-quality materials to ensure your roof is back to full strength.
  5. Final Walkthrough: Before we’re done, we inspect the repair with you to ensure you’re 100% satisfied.

Don’t Wait—Small Issues Can Turn Into Big Problems
Roof damage rarely fixes itself. What starts as a small crack or leak can quickly turn into a much bigger (and more expensive) problem if ignored.

Our team at Halo Roofing and Renovations is ready to help, no matter the size or scope of the repair.

Call us today at (910) 850-1268 to schedule your free inspection and estimate. Let us fix the problem quickly, so you can get back to enjoying the safety and comfort of your home.

Will You Help Me Work With My Homeowner’s Insurance for Storm or Leak-Related Damage?

Absolutely! At Halo Roofing and Renovations, we know dealing with homeowner’s insurance after storm damage or a roof leak can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’re here to make the process easier for you.

We work directly with you—and your insurance company—to ensure your claim is handled smoothly and your roof gets the care it needs without added stress.

How Does the Insurance Process Work?

Filing an insurance claim for roof repairs involves a few important steps. Here’s what you can expect when you work with us:

  1. Roof Damage Assessment
After a storm or suspected leak, call Halo Roofing for a free inspection. Our team will thoroughly assess your roof, identifying all visible and hidden damage.

We look for:

  • Missing, cracked, or curled shingles
  • Hail damage, such as dents or granule loss
  • Water intrusion, leaks, or stains
  • Damage to flashing, vents, or gutters

This detailed inspection helps us determine the extent of the damage and whether it qualifies for an insurance claim.

  1. Clear Documentation for Your Insurance Claim
We document everything. From photos and videos of the damage to a detailed inspection report, we provide all the evidence you need to submit a strong claim.

This ensures your insurance adjuster has a clear picture of what happened and what repairs are needed.

  1. Filing the Claim
Once you contact your insurance company to file a claim, an adjuster will schedule a visit to inspect the damage. Here’s where we come in:
  • We’ll meet with your adjuster to ensure nothing is overlooked and all damage is accounted for.
  • Our team can explain the scope of repairs and answer any questions the adjuster might have.

Having a professional roofer on your side during the inspection ensures accuracy and increases the likelihood of a fair settlement.

  1. Approval and Repair Process
Once your claim is approved, we’ll work with you to get your roof repaired quickly and efficiently. At Halo Roofing, we:
  • Use high-quality materials to ensure a long-lasting repair
  • Stick to the timeline and budget approved by your insurance company
  • Keep you informed every step of the way

We also make sure your roof repairs are up to code and restore your roof’s integrity so it’s ready to handle whatever the North Carolina weather throws its way.

Why Work With a Professional Roofing Team for Insurance Claims?

Insurance claims can feel like a lot to navigate on your own. Having an experienced roofer like Halo Roofing on your side ensures you’re not left guessing:

  • We save you time and stress: Let us handle the details so you can focus on what matters—getting your home back to normal.

What If My Claim Is Denied?
In some cases, insurance companies may deny a claim for roof damage, especially if they believe it’s caused by normal wear and tear. If this happens, don’t panic.

We’ll explain your options, offer transparent repair estimates, and work with you to find a solution that fits your budget.

Don’t Wait to Start the Process—Act Fast After Storm Damage
When it comes to storm damage or leaks, timing is critical. Waiting to address roof problems can lead to further damage, which might not be covered by your insurance. If you think your roof has been damaged, call us right away for a free inspection.

Let Halo Roofing Make Insurance Claims Simple
We’re here to take the stress out of roof repairs and insurance claims.

With our expert guidance, you can rest easy knowing your roof—and your home—is in good hands.

How Do I Know If My Roof Needs to Be Replaced Rather Than Repaired?

Your roof works 24/7 to protect your home from the elements, but it won’t last forever.

Deciding between a repair and a full replacement comes down to the age of your roof, the extent of the damage, and the warning signs you see.

Age of Your Roof

Most asphalt shingle roofs last between 20 to 25 years, depending on the material and maintenance.

If your roof is nearing or past this lifespan, it’s more cost-effective to replace it rather than continually repairing it.

Think of it like a car: at a certain point, small fixes just don’t make sense anymore.

Visible Signs of Damage

Take a look at your roof or have a professional inspect it. Signs that indicate replacement might be necessary include:

  • Missing or cracked shingles: A few missing shingles can sometimes be repaired, but widespread damage suggests bigger issues.
  • Curled or buckling shingles: When shingles start curling, it’s a sign they’ve aged and can no longer protect your home effectively.
  • Granules in your gutters: Asphalt shingles shed granules as they wear down. If you see a lot of granules collecting in your gutters, your roof may be nearing the end of its life.
  • Leaks or water damage: Water stains on your ceiling or walls could mean your roof has been compromised, and patching may not solve the root problem.

Severity of Damage

Minor damage, like a small area impacted by a storm, can often be repaired. But if the damage is widespread, covering a large portion of your roof, a replacement will offer better long-term protection and value.

Ignoring larger issues now could lead to more expensive repairs later, including structural damage or mold growth.

Energy Bills on the Rise?

A failing roof can impact your home’s insulation, causing your heating and cooling bills to climb.

If you’ve noticed unexpected spikes in energy costs, it could be because your roof isn’t doing its job. Replacing it with a modern, energy-efficient option can save you money over time.

When in Doubt, Call a Professional

The best way to know for sure is to schedule an inspection. At Halo Roofing and Renovations, we’ll give you an honest assessment of your roof and walk you through the best options for your home.

Don’t wait for small issues to become big problems. Call us today for a free inspection and estimate at (910) 850-1268. Protect your home with a roof that’s built to last!

How Long Does a Roof Replacement Typically Take, and What Can I Expect During the Process?

Replacing your roof may sound like a big job, but with the right team, it’s a smooth, well-organized process that can be completed faster than you might think.

At Halo Roofing and Renovations, we aim to take the stress out of roof replacement so you can focus on enjoying your updated, protected home.

Here’s what to expect and how long the process usually takes.

How Long Does It Take?
For most residential homes in mid and eastern North Carolina, a roof replacement typically takes 1 to 3 days, depending on a few factors:

  • The size of your roof: Larger roofs naturally take more time.
  • The type of materials used: Asphalt shingles are usually the fastest to install, while materials like metal or slate may require additional time.
  • Weather conditions: We always check the forecast to schedule work during clear weather, ensuring we stay on track.
  • The condition of your current roof: If we find structural issues, rotted decking, or other surprises beneath the surface, it may add a day or two to the process.

Rest assured, our experienced team works efficiently and keeps you informed every step of the way.

What Can You Expect During the Roof Replacement Process?

Step 1: Inspection and Estimate
The process begins with a thorough inspection of your current roof. We’ll check for signs of wear, damage, and any underlying issues that need addressing.

You’ll receive a free, detailed estimate outlining the scope of the project, the materials we recommend, and an accurate timeline.

Step 2: Planning and Scheduling
Once you’ve approved the estimate, we’ll work with you to schedule the replacement at a time that’s convenient for you.

We always consider the weather forecast and plan accordingly to minimize disruptions.

Step 3: Preparing Your Home
Before we begin, we’ll take steps to protect your property, including:

  • Placing tarps around your landscaping, siding, and driveway to catch debris
  • Moving outdoor furniture, grills, and potted plants out of the work area
  • Ensuring a clear path for equipment and material deliveries

We’ll also let you know if you need to take any precautions inside, such as securing fragile items that might shake during the process.

Step 4: Removing the Old Roof
The first big task is tearing off your existing roof. This process involves carefully removing the old shingles or other materials down to the decking.

If we discover any damaged or rotted wood underneath, we’ll replace it to ensure a strong foundation for your new roof.

Step 5: Installing the New Roof
Now for the exciting part—installing your new roof!

  • Underlayment: We start with a water-resistant underlayment to protect your home from moisture.
  • Shingles or Roofing Material: Whether you’ve chosen asphalt shingles, metal, or another option, we’ll install each section with precision to ensure durability and a clean, polished look.
  • Flashing and Ventilation: We’ll address critical areas like chimneys, vents, and skylights with proper flashing to prevent leaks and improve airflow.

Step 6: Cleanup and Final Inspection
At Halo, we pride ourselves on leaving your home cleaner than we found it. After the installation, we’ll:

  • Use magnets to collect any stray nails or debris from your yard and driveway
  • Perform a full cleanup of the work area
  • Conduct a final walkthrough to ensure everything meets our high standards

We’ll also inspect the new roof with you to make sure you’re completely satisfied before we consider the job done.

Step 7: Peace of Mind
Once the process is complete, you’ll have a brand-new roof that enhances your home’s curb appeal, improves energy efficiency, and protects your family for years to come. We’ll also provide you with warranty details so you can feel confident in your investment.

How Much Does a Roof Replacement Cost in NC, and What Factors Affect the Price?

When it’s time to replace your roof, one of the first questions homeowners ask is, “How much will this cost?”

The answer depends on several key factors, including the size of your roof, the materials you choose, and the overall condition of your home.

At Halo Roofing and Renovations, we believe in providing honest, transparent pricing so you know exactly what to expect.

Let’s break it down.

What’s the Average Cost of a Roof Replacement?
In North Carolina, the cost of a roof replacement can range from $5,000 to $15,000 or more, depending on the size and complexity of the job. For most homeowners, the average falls somewhere in the middle.

Key Factors That Affect the Price of Your Roof Replacement

  1. Size of Your Roof
Your roof’s total square footage is one of the biggest factors in determining the cost. Roofers measure roofs in “squares,” with one square equal to 100 square feet.

The larger your roof, the more materials and labor are required, which naturally increases the price.

  1. Roofing Materials
The type of roofing material you choose will have a significant impact on cost. Here’s a quick look at common options:
  • Asphalt Shingles: The most affordable and popular choice, costing roughly $3.50 to $5.50 per square foot. They’re reliable, durable, and perfect for North Carolina’s climate.
  • Architectural Shingles: Slightly more expensive than traditional asphalt but more durable and aesthetically appealing.
  • Metal Roofing: A long-lasting option with a higher upfront cost, ranging from $7 to $12 per square foot. It’s incredibly durable, energy-efficient, and can save you money over time.
  • Slate or Tile: Premium materials like slate or clay tile cost significantly more but offer unmatched durability and elegance.
  1. The Condition of Your Existing Roof
If your current roof has underlying issues—like rotted decking or structural damage—these will need to be repaired before a new roof can be installed.

Fixing these problems adds to the overall cost but ensures a strong, lasting foundation for your new roof.

  1. Roof Complexity
A simple, single-story roof with few angles or slopes is faster and easier to replace. If your roof has:
  • Multiple peaks and valleys
  • Steep pitches
  • Chimneys, skylights, or other features
It will require more labor and specialized techniques, which can increase the price.
  1. Labor Costs
Labor costs vary based on the experience of the roofing contractor and the complexity of the job.

At Halo Roofing and Renovations, we bring over 30 years of experience to every project, ensuring your new roof is installed with precision and care.

  1. Additional Upgrades
Sometimes, a roof replacement is the perfect time to invest in upgrades like improved ventilation, energy-efficient materials, or enhanced gutter systems.

While these add to the initial cost, they can save you money on energy bills and future maintenance.

Why Replacing Your Roof Is Worth the Investment
While a roof replacement may feel like a significant expense, it’s one of the best investments you can make in your home. A new roof:

  • Protects your home from leaks, mold, and structural damage
  • Increases your property’s value and curb appeal
  • Improves energy efficiency, saving you money on heating and cooling costs
  • Gives you peace of mind, knowing your home is protected for years to come
